Hand Painted Ceramic Plate and Vase

If pieces could be a place, this bowl and vase set would take us straight to the Mediterranean - sitting under the warmth of the sun by clear blue water, with a large seafood platter and crisp white wine. Their whimsical hand-painted images of birds, bees and wonderfully character-filled fish on the white rustic ceramic share that same delight. Sun, space, water and joy all in one place.

They do have an artist, but not one I can identify. I think that only adds to their charm - perhaps even adds a little mystery. But there’s another element that needs sharing, they feel wonderful. The ceramic is smooth, cool and soft to the touch. This set is certainly one of a kind - a wonderful kind.

  • The Jug
    Height: 23cms
    Width: 19cms

    The Plate
    Height: 3.5cms
    Diameter: 30cms

Made from ceramic, both are signed with the same signature, although I have not been able to attribute the artist.

  • The condition of both items is excellent.

There are some speckles in the ceramic, but these would have been part of their original construction.

There are no chips, marks or cracks.

  • When I look at this pair, I see a bright, modern, beachy home with a muted white and neutral designer palette. They’d sit beautifully on a light-coloured sideboard near open doors and streaming sunshine.

I can also picture them at the end of a kitchen island bench - a few pieces of fruit on the plate and some glorious Australian native greenery in the vase.

Wherever these are placed, trust me, they will bring light and smiles.
